Destination to Consider – Florence, ItalyAug 27, 2018
Florence… the word itself conjures dreams. One of Europe’s greatest cities of art, abundant breathtaking architecture, and unforgettable local gastronomy. No doubt, if you have not yet considered Florence, you will begin planning your trip by the end of this article. Get your calendar ready!
Florence is undeniably rich in history and art. According to UNESCO, nearly a third of the world’s art treasures reside in Florence. Across the centuries, Florence has been at the heart of many historical events: home town of Leonardo da Vinci, Amerigo Vespucci and Florence Nightingale, but also the city establishment of Italian designers Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci and Salvatore Ferragamo.
Florence is the largest city in Tuscany and the largest city in the region. Many people consider the backbone of the Tuscan region to be the gastronomy. You’ll find fresh, high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients that bring out the natural flavors of the region. Tuscany is, amongst other things, very well-known for its vineyards, which make wine tasting a special activity to do in the area.
Arriving at Amerigo Vespucci Airport is efficient and relaxed. It is a small airport with near access to the city centre. Florence offers a wide range of hotels to include quality standards such as Marriott, Hyatt, and Hilton. It also boasts a large selection of boutique hotels, perfect to accommodate small group meetings.
Florence is indeed a dreamy word and in reality a great location to mix business and pleasure.
