Taipei, is the capital of Taiwan, also commonly known as the Republic of China, and is located at the Northern tip of the country. Taipei is the political, economic, educational, and cultural center of Taiwan, and one of the major hubs of the Chinese-speaking world. The city is a great mix of modern style architecture, tradition, and local customs.
Due to its size and population, Taipei is a buzzing hub. It is full of colorful night markets, roads crowded with motor scooters, temples and local shrines. Thousands of shops are flocked to by locals and citizens of neighboring countries. But, however busy it seems, Taipei also allows for remarkable moments of peace and tranquility. Main attractions, including the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Longshan Temple, bring a deep sensation of calming.
Taipei is also a very strategic location to hold meetings. There are multiple affordable hotels that meet compliance guidelines and standards of excellence. Many of these are located in the city center. Additionally, there are two major airports in Taiwan, one of which is located in Taipei.
The local gastronomy will not leave your participants unimpressed. Taiwanese food is globally acclaimed and is a total change from neighboring countries such as China and Japan. The street food markets are remarkable and it would be a shame to visit Taipei without trying some of its delicacies including the king of local snacks- ‘’stinky tofu’’!
For a unique off-site experience, head straight to the Taipei 101 which is one of the highest towers in the world. Although displaced as the tallest by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2009, it is still described as one of the tallest and largest green building in the world. Taipei 101 is a master of energy efficiency notably using state-of-the-art cooling and recycling systems. The views from the tower are fantastic and Taipei 101 holds several restaurants which make it the perfect location for a group dinner.
Taipei will most certainly surprise you and your participants, so look no further and plan your next meeting there!
